At the end of the year, Chessinau Final 2025 brings together children, parents, and chess enthusiasts of all ages to mark the close of the competitive season.
It is the largest chess tournament in the Republic of Moldova, created to unite the community of those who love this game of strategy and focus.
The event is organized with the support of the Chess Federation of Moldova and aims to promote chess, sportsmanship, and the timeless values of this classic game.
Participation and format
The tournament will follow FIDE regulations, in a Swiss system of 7 rounds.
Time control: 7 minutes + 3 seconds per move.
Evaluation: The tournament is not included in the FIDE rating system and does not require federation membership.

Participants, especially children, must arrive within the specified time and have an identification document (birth certificate, ID card, or passport).
Entry fee and registration
Participation fee: 400 MDL, paid online at sporter.md.
Confirmation of participation: on-site, on the day of the tournament, by 09:30.
Registration: exclusively on the official website sporter.md.
Note: The number of spots is limited, and on-site registration will not be available.
Prizes and awards
The final ranking will be determined by the total score.
In case of a tie, the following tiebreak criteria will be applied:
Result of the direct game between players with equal points
Buchholz (-1) system – total points scored by opponents, minus the weakest result
Berger system – score calculated based on opponents’ strength
Progress – additional points for consistent results across rounds

The tournament will be broadcast live, with expert commentary, so that spectators and parents can follow the games in real time.
Each participant will receive a Chessinau Final 2025 pin, as a symbol of participation.
By taking part, parents consent to the use of photo and video materials for promotional purposes.
