Valea Morilor Lake
The lake is located in the Centru sector. Prior to draining, the lake area was 34 hectares (84 acres). Length – approx. 800 m (2,624ft.), width – approx. 400 m (1,312ft.), average depth – approx. 4 m (13ft.). Drainage area – 19 km², volume — 1.36 million m³. The duration of the freeze-up is 75 days. The shore of the lake is provided with a sandy beach, a boat station, and sports grounds. The lake is surrounded by the Valea Morilor Park. In the days of the Moldavian SSR, a public skating rink was set up on the lake in wintertime.
